1. 01Do We Volunteer?

   Hello, everyone. Last month, I asked the twenty-four students in our class one question: did you volunteer this year? Here are the results.

   皆さん、こんにちは。先月、クラスの24人に一つの質問をしました。今年、ボランティアをしましたか？その結果を紹介します。

2. 02Yes or No?

   Fourteen students said yes, and ten students said no. So more than half of our class volunteered this year.

   「はい」と答えた人が14人、「いいえ」と答えた人が10人でした。つまり、クラスの半分以上が今年ボランティアをしたのです。

3. 03What Did They Do?

   The most popular activity was cleaning parks. Six students did that. Five helped at school events, and three helped older people in our town.

   一番人気の活動は、公園の掃除でした。6人がそれをしました。5人は学校の行事を手伝い、3人は町のお年寄りを手伝いました。

4. 04Why Not?

   I also asked the ten students who said no. Most of them said they had no time, or they didn't know how to start.

   「いいえ」と答えた10人にも聞いてみました。ほとんどの人は、時間がなかった、またはどう始めればいいか分からなかった、と答えました。

   So, many of us like to help. Maybe our class can plan one easy volunteer day together. Thank you for listening.
