1. 01Let's Start a Monthly Book Club

   Good evening, everyone. I'm a high school librarian, and I've lived in this neighborhood for ten years. Tonight, I'd like to propose a monthly book club at our community library.

   大家晚安。我是一名高中圖書管理員，在這個社羣住了十年。今晚，我想提議在我們的社羣圖書館成立一個每月一次的讀書會。

2. 02Why a Book Club?

   Many of us say we want to read more, but we never find the time. A book club gives us a reason and a deadline. It's also a great way to meet neighbors we usually only nod to.

   我們很多人都說想多讀點書，但總是找不到時間。讀書會能給我們一個理由和一個截止日期。這也是認識鄰居的好方法，平時我們和他們可能只是點點頭而已。

3. 03How It Would Work

   Here's how it would work. We'd meet on the first Saturday of each month, for one hour. We'd read one book each month, and it would be completely free to join.

   具體是這樣安排的。我們在每個月的第一個星期六見面，每次一個小時。每個月讀一本書，而且完全免費參加。

4. 04Choosing Books

   Members would vote on the books. We'd try a mix: novels, mysteries, and some nonfiction. I'd also suggest shorter books, so busy people can finish them.

   書由成員投票決定。我們會嘗試各種型別：小說、推理小說，還有一些非虛構作品。我還建議選一些比較短的書，讓忙碌的人也能讀完。

5. 05You Might Be Wondering...

   You might be wondering, "What if I don't finish the book?" That's fine. Come anyway and listen. And if you're shy, you don't have to speak. Just enjoy the tea and the conversation.

   你也許會想：「如果我沒讀完那本書怎麼辦？」沒關係。照樣來聽聽就好。如果你比較害羞，也不用發言。只要享受茶點和聊天就好。

6. 06What We Need

   To start, we need three things: a room at the library, two volunteers to help organize, and some tea and cookies. The library has already said the room is available.

   要開始的話，我們需要三樣東西：圖書館的一個房間、兩位幫忙組織的志願者，還有一些茶和餅乾。圖書館已經說房間可以用了。
