   Good evening. These days, AI can write stories, draw pictures, and even compose music in seconds. This raises an important question: is AI making us less creative? Tonight, I'd like to explore both sides of this debate.

   こんばんは。最近では、AIが物語を書き、絵を描き、さらには作曲まで数秒でこなします。そこで、ある大切な問いが生まれます。AIは私たちの創造力を弱めているのでしょうか？今夜は、この議論の両方の側面を探ってみたいと思います。

2. 02What AI Can Do Today

   Let's start with what AI can already do. Today's tools can write essays, suggest ideas, create images, and compose music. Tasks that once took hours can now be done in seconds.

   まず、AIがすでに何をできるのかから始めましょう。今のツールは、作文を書いたり、アイデアを出したり、画像を作ったり、作曲したりできます。かつて何時間もかかっていた作業が、今では数秒でできるのです。

3. 03The Worry

   Many people worry that relying on AI will weaken our own skills. If we always ask a machine for ideas, we may stop thinking for ourselves. There is also a concern that AI-made content will make everything look and sound the same.

   多くの人は、AIに頼ることで自分の力が弱くなることを心配しています。いつも機械にアイデアを求めていたら、自分で考えるのをやめてしまうかもしれません。AIが作ったものによって、何もかもが同じように見えたり聞こえたりするようになるという心配もあります。

4. 04A Lesson From History

   History gives us a useful perspective. When photography was invented in the 1800s, some artists and critics worried that it would harm painting. Instead, many artists developed new styles that a camera could not copy. New tools often change creativity rather than destroy it.

   歴史は、役に立つ見方を教えてくれます。1800年代に写真が発明されたとき、写真が絵画をだめにすると心配した画家や評論家もいました。ところが実際には、多くの画家がカメラにはまねできない新しいスタイルを生み出しました。新しい道具は、創造力を壊すよりも、変えることが多いのです。

5. 05AI as a Creative Partner

   In my view, the key is how we use AI. When we treat it as a partner, not a replacement, it can actually boost creativity. We come up with the idea, AI offers options, and we make the final decisions.

   私の考えでは、大事なのはAIの使い方です。AIを、自分の代わりではなくパートナーとして扱えば、創造力をむしろ高めてくれます。アイデアを出すのは私たち、選択肢を示すのはAI、そして最後に決めるのは私たちです。

6. 06The Real Risk

   So the real risk isn't AI itself, it's using it passively. If we simply copy the first answer, our skills will fade. But if we question the output and keep practicing, AI can make us sharper.

   つまり、本当の危険はAIそのものではなく、受け身で使うことです。最初の答えをそのまま写すだけなら、私たちの力は衰えていきます。でも、出てきた答えを疑い、練習を続ければ、AIは私たちをもっと鋭くしてくれます。

7. 07Three Simple Habits

   Here are three simple habits. First, think on your own before asking AI. Second, always add your own voice to the final result. And third, keep making some things completely by hand.

   三つの簡単な習慣を紹介します。一つ目に、AIに聞く前に自分で考えること。二つ目に、最終的な成果には必ず自分らしさを加えること。そして三つ目に、完全に手作業で作るものも続けることです。

8. 08Conclusion

   To conclude, AI won't make us less creative on its own. It all depends on how we choose to use it. The tool is new, but the question is old: will we let it think for us, or with us? Thank you.
