1. 01Let's Grow Vegetables on Our Rooftop

   Good evening, neighbors. Our apartment building has a large rooftop that nobody uses. I'd like to suggest that we turn it into a shared vegetable garden.

   近所の皆さん、こんばんは。私たちのマンションには、だれも使っていない広い屋上があります。そこを、みんなの家庭菜園にすることを提案したいと思います。

2. 02The Idea

   The idea is simple. We could put ten planter boxes on the roof and grow easy vegetables, like tomatoes, herbs, and lettuce.

   アイデアは単純です。屋上にプランターを10個置いて、トマトやハーブ、レタスのような、育てやすい野菜を作ればいいのです。

3. 03Why It's a Good Idea

   There are three good reasons. We'd have fresh vegetables, we'd get to know each other, and the roof would become a pleasant green space to relax.

   良い理由が三つあります。新鮮な野菜が手に入り、お互いに知り合いになれて、屋上がくつろげる気持ちのいい緑の場所になります。

4. 04The Cost

   Of course, it isn't free. We'd need boxes, soil, and seeds. If the families who join share the cost, it should only be a small amount each.

   もちろん、ただではありません。プランターと土と種が必要です。参加する家族で費用を分ければ、一家族あたりは少しの額で済むはずです。

5. 05Who Does the Work?

   To keep it fair, we'd make a simple watering schedule. Each family would take care of the garden for one week at a time.

   公平にするために、簡単な水やりの当番表を作ります。一家族が1週間ずつ、菜園の世話をします。
