1. 01Should Dogs Be Allowed in the Office?

   Hello, everyone. Last month, our manager asked us: should we allow dogs in the office? Half the team said "Yes, please!" and the other half said "Absolutely not!" Today, I'll look at both sides.

   皆さん、こんにちは。先月、マネージャーが私たちに聞きました。オフィスに犬を連れてきてもいいことにしようか？チームの半分は「ぜひ！」と言い、もう半分は「絶対だめ！」と言いました。今日は、両方の意見を見ていきます。

2. 02For: A Happier Office

   Supporters say dogs make the office happier. Petting a dog during a stressful day can help people relax, and dogs make people smile.

   賛成する人は、犬がいるとオフィスが明るくなると言います。ストレスの多い日に犬をなでるとリラックスできますし、犬はみんなを笑顔にしてくれます。

3. 03For: Easier for Owners

   It's also easier for dog owners. They don't have to rush home at lunchtime, and their dogs aren't alone all day.

   犬を飼っている人にとっても楽になります。お昼に急いで家に帰らなくていいですし、犬も一日じゅう一人ぼっちにならずに済みます。

4. 04Against: Allergies and Fears

   On the other hand, some coworkers have allergies, and some are afraid of dogs. For them, a dog in the office could make work uncomfortable or even impossible.

   一方で、アレルギーのある同僚や、犬が怖い同僚もいます。そうした人にとって、オフィスに犬がいると、仕事がしにくくなったり、できなくなったりさえするかもしれません。

5. 05Against: Noise and Mess

   There's also noise and mess. A barking dog during an online meeting isn't very professional, and someone has to clean up hair and accidents.

   音や汚れの問題もあります。オンライン会議中に犬が吠えるのは、あまりプロらしくありませんし、だれかが毛やそそうの片づけをしなければなりません。

6. 06My View: Yes, With Rules

   In my view, dogs can come, but only with clear rules. For example, dogs only on Fridays, dog-free areas for people with allergies, and agreement from the whole team first.

   私の考えでは、犬が来てもいいですが、はっきりしたルールがある場合に限ります。たとえば、犬は金曜日だけにする、アレルギーのある人のために犬の入れない場所を作る、そしてまずチーム全員の同意を得る、といったことです。

   To sum up, dogs at work can be wonderful, but only if everyone feels comfortable. With good rules, both dogs and coworkers can be happy. Thank you.
