Hi, everyone. I'm an architect, and for years my desk was covered in papers, coffee cups, and sticky notes. One day, I lost an important drawing just before a client meeting. That was my wake-up call.

  1. 01My Desk Was a Disaster

Hi, everyone. I'm an architect, and for years my desk was covered in papers, coffee cups, and sticky notes. One day, I lost an important drawing just before a client meeting. That was my wake-up call.

  2. 02The Problem

The problem wasn't just the mess. I wasted time searching for things every day, and looking at the chaos made me feel stressed before I even started working.

  3. 03Fix 1: Clear Everything Once

First, I cleared everything off my desk. I put each item into one of three groups: throw it away, file it, or act on it this week.

  4. 04Fix 2: A Home for Everything

Next, I gave everything a home. New papers go into one tray, finished projects go into labeled folders, and only things I'm using today stay on the desk.

  5. 05Fix 3: The Five-Minute Reset

The most important fix was a five-minute reset at the end of each day. Before I leave, I put everything back in its place. The next morning, I start with a clean desk.

  6. 06The Result

The result was bigger than I expected. I stopped losing things, my mornings felt calmer, and my coworkers even started asking me for organizing tips.

  7. 07Conclusion

In conclusion, getting organized doesn't need a perfect system. Clear once, give things a home, and spend five minutes each evening. Your future self will thank you. Thank you.
