1. 01Hostel or Hotel?

   Hi, everyone. I'm a nurse from Manila, and I use my vacation time to travel around Asia. Before every trip, I have to decide: hostel or hotel? Today, I'll compare the two.

   大家好。我是来自马尼拉的一名护士，我会利用假期在亚洲各地旅行。每次出发前，我都得做个决定：住青年旅舍还是住酒店？今天，我来比较一下这两者。

2. 02Price

   Let's start with price. A bed in a hostel is usually much cheaper than a hotel room, especially in big cities. That saves money for food and activities.

   我们先从价格说起。青年旅舍的一张床位通常比酒店的一个房间便宜得多，尤其是在大城市。这样就能省下钱来吃饭和参加活动。

3. 03Privacy and Sleep

   On the other hand, hotels are better for privacy and sleep. In a hostel, you often share a room with strangers, and someone may come back late at night.

   另一方面，在隐私和睡眠方面，酒店更好。在青年旅舍，你常常要和陌生人同住一个房间，而且可能有人深夜才回来。

4. 04Meeting People

   The biggest advantage of hostels is people. There are shared kitchens and common rooms, so it's easy to meet other travelers. In hotels, it's much harder to start a conversation.

   青年旅舍最大的优势在于人。那里有公用厨房和公共休息室，所以很容易认识其他旅行者。在酒店里，要和别人搭话就难多了。

5. 05Side by Side

   Here they are side by side. Neither is always better; it depends on what you need from the trip.

   这是两者的对比。没有哪一个总是更好，要看你这次旅行需要什么。

6. 06My Rule

   So my rule is simple. When I travel alone and want to meet people, I choose a hostel. When I'm tired from work and need real rest, I book a hotel.

   所以我的规则很简单。一个人旅行、想认识新朋友的时候，我选择青年旅舍。工作累了、需要好好休息的时候，我就订酒店。
