1. 01I Fixed My Own Laptop

   Hello, everyone. I'm a freelance writer from Argentina. Last month, my laptop became very slow and its battery died within an hour. Instead of buying a new one, I decided to fix it myself. Here's what happened.

   Hola a todos. Soy escritora independiente de Argentina. El mes pasado, mi computadora portátil se volvió muy lenta y la batería se agotaba en menos de una hora. En lugar de comprar una nueva, decidí arreglarla yo misma. Les cuento lo que pasó.

2. 02The Plan

   I watched repair videos and made a plan. I would replace the old battery and change the storage to a faster one. I ordered the parts online.

   Vi videos de reparación e hice un plan. Iba a reemplazar la batería vieja y cambiar el almacenamiento por uno más rápido. Pedí las piezas por internet.

3. 03The Scary Moment

   Opening the laptop was scary. The screws were tiny, and one cable was so thin I was afraid to touch it. My hands were actually shaking.

   Abrir la computadora me dio miedo. Los tornillos eran diminutos, y un cable era tan delgado que me daba miedo tocarlo. De hecho, me temblaban las manos.

4. 04A Mistake

   Then I made a mistake. I lost one of the screws! I spent twenty minutes looking for it, and finally found it under the sofa. After that, I put every screw in a small cup.

   Entonces cometí un error. ¡Perdí uno de los tornillos! Pasé veinte minutos buscándolo y por fin lo encontré debajo del sofá. Después de eso, puse cada tornillo en una tacita.

5. 05The Result

   When I closed the laptop and pressed the power button, it turned on! It started much faster, and the battery lasted all day. I felt incredibly proud.

6. 06What I Learned

   I learned three things. Go slowly, keep small parts organized, and don't throw things away too quickly. Many devices can be repaired with a little patience.

   Aprendí tres cosas. Ir despacio, mantener ordenadas las piezas pequeñas y no tirar las cosas demasiado rápido. Muchos aparatos se pueden reparar con un poco de paciencia.
