01I Kept Getting Scam Messages
Hi, everyone. Last spring, I got a text message that said my package couldn't be delivered. It had a link to "reschedule." I almost clicked it. Today, I'll talk about scam messages and how I protect myself now.
02The Problem
After that, I noticed I was getting scam messages almost every week: fake delivery notices, fake warnings from banks, and messages saying I'd won a prize.
03Warning Signs
I learned to look for warning signs. Scam messages often sound urgent, like "Act now!" They include strange links, and they ask for passwords or card numbers.
04Solution 1: Don't Click, Go Direct
My first rule is: don't click the link. If a message says there's a problem with my bank or a package, I open the official app or type the website address myself.
05Solution 2: Slow Down
My second rule is to slow down. Scammers want you to feel panic so you act without thinking. Now, when a message feels urgent, I wait five minutes before doing anything.
06Solution 3: Report and Share
Finally, I report scam messages and delete them. I also tell my parents about new types of scams, because older family members can be targets too.
07Conclusion
In conclusion, scam messages are getting smarter, but a few simple habits can protect you. Remember: pause before you click. Thank you.
Gracias.
