    Hi, everyone. I'm a hairdresser in Cairo. Last month, I turned thirty. My friends planned a surprise party for me. Let me tell you what happened.

    Hola a todos. Soy peluquero en El Cairo. El mes pasado cumplí treinta años. Mis amigos me organizaron una fiesta sorpresa. Les voy a contar lo que pasó.

  2. 02A Normal Day?

    In the morning, nobody said happy birthday. I felt a little sad. I thought, "Maybe they forgot."

    Por la mañana, nadie me dijo feliz cumpleaños. Me sentí un poco triste. Pensé: «A lo mejor se olvidaron».

  3. 03The Evening

    In the evening, my best friend said, "Let's get dinner." We went to her apartment. It was dark. Then the lights came on!

    Por la tarde, mi mejor amiga me dijo: «Vamos a cenar». Fuimos a su apartamento. Estaba oscuro. ¡Y de repente se encendieron las luces!

    Fifteen friends shouted, "Surprise!" There was a big cake, music, and balloons. I was so surprised that I cried a little.

    Quince amigos gritaron: «¡Sorpresa!». Había un pastel grande, música y globos. Me sorprendí tanto que lloré un poco.
