  1. 01A Free Music Room for Our Community

Good evening, members of the board. I'm a music teacher, and I've lived in this neighborhood for twenty years. Tonight, I'd like to propose that we turn the unused storage room on the second floor into a free music room.

  2. 02The Need

Here's the need I see every week. Many of my students live in small apartments where they can't practice without disturbing their neighbors, and renting a studio is too expensive for many families.

  3. 03The Idea

The idea is a simple, soundproofed room with an old piano, a basic drum set, and two amplifiers. Anyone in the neighborhood could book it online for free, in one-hour slots.

  4. 04Who Would Benefit

The room would benefit many groups: students who need a place to practice, local bands without a garage, and older residents who want to play music together again.

  5. 05"What About the Noise?"

I know the first concern will be noise. That's why the plan includes soundproof panels on the walls and door, and the room would close at nine every evening.

  6. 06"How Will We Pay for It?"

The second concern is cost. Several families have already offered to donate instruments, and we could apply for a small local arts grant to cover the soundproofing. Volunteers from my music school would help manage bookings.

  7. 07A Six-Month Trial

I'm not asking for a permanent decision tonight. I'm asking for a six-month trial. We'll track how often the room is used and collect feedback from neighbors, and then decide together whether to continue.

  8. 08Conclusion

To conclude, this room is empty today. With a little effort, it could be full of music and full of neighbors. I hope you'll support the trial. Thank you, and I'm happy to answer your questions.
