1. 01Texting vs. Calling

   Hi, everyone. My mother always calls me, but I almost always reply with a text. She once asked me, "Why don't you ever call?" Today, I'll compare texting and calling, and explain my answer to her.

   大家好。我妈妈总是给我打电话，但我几乎总是用短信回复她。有一次她问我：“你为什么从来不打电话？”今天，我来比较一下发信息和打电话，并说说我给她的回答。

2. 02Texting: Flexible

   The biggest advantage of texting is flexibility. I can answer when I'm ready, even in a meeting or on a train, and I don't interrupt the other person.

   发信息最大的好处是灵活。我可以在准备好的时候再回复，即使在开会或者坐地铁的时候也可以，而且不会打扰到对方。

3. 03Texting: Time to Think

   Texting also gives me time to think. I can choose my words carefully, and it's easy to check details later, like addresses or times.

   发信息还给了我思考的时间。我可以仔细斟酌用词，之后也很容易查看地址、时间这样的细节。

4. 04Calling: Warm and Fast

   On the other hand, calling has its own strengths. Hearing someone's voice feels warmer, and it's easier to understand their feelings. Complicated plans are also faster to solve on the phone.

   另一方面，打电话也有它的长处。听到对方的声音感觉更温暖，也更容易理解对方的感受。复杂的计划在电话里也能更快地商量好。

5. 05Side by Side

   When I put them side by side, I see that they're good for different things.

   把它们放在一起比较，我发现它们各有各的用处。

6. 06My Answer to My Mother

   So here's what I told my mother: I text for quick things, like times and places, but I'll call for important things, like big news or when someone needs support. Now I call her every Sunday.

   所以，我是这样回答我妈妈的：快速的小事，比如时间和地点，我会发信息；但重要的事，比如有重大消息，或者有人需要支持的时候，我会打电话。现在，我每个星期天都会给她打电话。

7. 07Conclusion

   In conclusion, neither is always better. Texting is efficient, and calling is personal. The key is choosing the right one for the moment. Which do you prefer? Thank you.
