1. 01Who Owns Our Data?

   Good evening, everyone. Every time we search, shop, or scroll online, we leave a trail of data behind. Tonight, I'd like to ask a simple but important question: who really owns that data?

   大家晚上好。每当我们在网上搜索、购物或刷手机时，都会留下数据的痕迹。今晚，我想提出一个简单却重要的问题：这些数据到底属于谁？

2. 02What Apps Collect

   Apps and websites collect a surprising amount of information: where we go, what we click, what we buy, and even who we talk to.

   应用程序和网站收集的信息多得惊人：我们去了哪里、点了什么、买了什么，甚至和谁聊天。

3. 03Why Our Data Is Valuable

   For many free services, our data is the real product. It is used to show targeted ads, and in some cases it is shared with other companies. As the saying goes, if you're not paying, you might be the product.

   对于很多免费服务来说，我们的数据才是真正的商品。这些数据被用来投放精准广告，有时还会被分享给其他公司。俗话说得好，如果你没有付钱，那你可能就是商品。

4. 04The Risks

   This creates real risks. Data leaks can expose personal information, and detailed profiles can be used to influence what we buy, or even what we believe.

   这带来了实实在在的风险。数据泄露可能会暴露个人信息，而详细的用户画像可能会被用来影响我们买什么，甚至影响我们相信什么。

5. 05Laws Are Catching Up

   Laws are starting to catch up. In 2018, the European Union introduced the GDPR, which gives people the right to see their data and ask companies to delete it.

   法律正在逐步跟上。2018年，欧盟推出了《通用数据保护条例》（GDPR），赋予人们查看自己数据的权利，并可以要求企业删除这些数据。

6. 06What We Can Do

   We can also protect ourselves. We can check which apps can see our location, use privacy settings, and think twice before we share personal details.

   我们自己也可以做好保护。我们可以检查哪些应用能看到我们的位置，使用隐私设置，在分享个人信息之前三思而后行。

7. 07My View

   In my view, our data should belong to us. Companies should be clear about what they collect, and people should have real control over it.

   在我看来，我们的数据应该属于我们自己。企业应该清楚说明它们收集了什么，而人们应该能够真正掌控自己的数据。

   To conclude, data is power. The question is whether that power stays with us or with a few large companies. Thank you.
