1. 01Too Busy for Hobbies?

   Hi, everyone. I'm a hotel manager and a mother of a five-year-old. I used to paint every weekend, but for three years, I didn't paint at all. Today, I'll share the problem and how I fixed it.

   Hola a todos. Soy gerente de hotel y madre de una niña de cinco años. Antes pintaba todos los fines de semana, pero durante tres años no pinté nada. Hoy les voy a contar el problema y cómo lo resolví.

2. 02The Problem

   The problem was simple: work, family, and housework filled every hour. When I finally had free time, I was too tired, so I just scrolled on my phone.

   El problema era sencillo: el trabajo, la familia y las tareas de la casa llenaban cada hora. Cuando por fin tenía tiempo libre, estaba demasiado cansada, así que solo me ponía a mirar el teléfono.

3. 03Why It Matters

   This matters more than it sounds. Without my hobby, I felt more stressed, and I felt like I had lost a part of myself. I was only a worker and a parent.

   Esto importa más de lo que parece. Sin mi pasatiempo, me sentía más estresada y sentía que había perdido una parte de mí. Solo era trabajadora y madre.

4. 04Solution 1: Think Small

   My first solution was to think small. I stopped waiting for a free afternoon. Instead, I painted for just fifteen minutes after my daughter went to bed.

   Mi primera solución fue pensar en pequeño. Dejé de esperar a tener una tarde libre. En cambio, pintaba solo quince minutos después de que mi hija se iba a dormir.

5. 05Solution 2: Make It Easy to Start

   Second, I made it easy to start. I kept my paints on the kitchen table, not in a closet. And I left my phone in another room.

   Segundo, hice que fuera fácil empezar. Dejé mis pinturas sobre la mesa de la cocina, no en un armario. Y dejaba el teléfono en otra habitación.

6. 06Solution 3: Put It on the Calendar

   Third, I put my hobby on the family calendar, just like a work meeting. My husband knows that Wednesday night is my painting time.

   Tercero, puse mi pasatiempo en el calendario familiar, igual que una reunión de trabajo. Mi esposo sabe que el miércoles por la noche es mi momento de pintar.
