1. 01Too Busy for Hobbies?

   Hi, everyone. I'm a hotel manager and a mother of a five-year-old. I used to paint every weekend, but for three years, I didn't paint at all. Today, I'll share the problem and how I fixed it.

   皆さん、こんにちは。私はホテルの支配人で、5歳の子どもの母親です。前は毎週末に絵を描いていましたが、3年間、まったく描きませんでした。今日は、その問題と、どうやって解決したかを紹介します。

2. 02The Problem

   The problem was simple: work, family, and housework filled every hour. When I finally had free time, I was too tired, so I just scrolled on my phone.

   問題は単純でした。仕事と家族と家事で、すべての時間が埋まっていたのです。やっと自由な時間ができても、疲れていて、スマホをスクロールするだけでした。

3. 03Why It Matters

   This matters more than it sounds. Without my hobby, I felt more stressed, and I felt like I had lost a part of myself. I was only a worker and a parent.

   これは、思っている以上に大事なことです。趣味がないと、ストレスが増え、自分の一部をなくしてしまったように感じました。私は、働く人と親でしかありませんでした。

4. 04Solution 1: Think Small

   My first solution was to think small. I stopped waiting for a free afternoon. Instead, I painted for just fifteen minutes after my daughter went to bed.

   一つ目の解決策は、小さく考えることでした。午後が空くのを待つのをやめました。代わりに、娘が寝たあと、たった15分だけ絵を描くようにしました。

5. 05Solution 2: Make It Easy to Start

   Second, I made it easy to start. I kept my paints on the kitchen table, not in a closet. And I left my phone in another room.

   二つ目に、始めやすくしました。絵の具を押し入れではなく、台所のテーブルに置いておきました。そして、スマホは別の部屋に置きました。

6. 06Solution 3: Put It on the Calendar

   Third, I put my hobby on the family calendar, just like a work meeting. My husband knows that Wednesday night is my painting time.

   三つ目に、仕事の会議と同じように、趣味を家族のカレンダーに入れました。夫は、水曜日の夜が私の絵の時間だと知っています。

7. 07Conclusion

   In conclusion, you don't need a lot of free time for a hobby. Fifteen minutes still counts. Which hobby would you like to bring back? Thank you.
