1. 01The Airline Lost My Suitcase

   Hi, everyone. Last year, I flew from Manila to Rome for a friend's wedding. When I arrived, everyone got their bags except me. My suitcase was lost. Today, I'll tell you what I did, and what I learned.

   皆さん、こんにちは。去年、友達の結婚式のために、マニラからローマへ飛行機で行きました。着いたとき、私以外のみんなが荷物を受け取りました。スーツケースがなくなってしまったのです。今日は、私がしたことと、学んだことをお話しします。

2. 02The Problem

   The problem was serious. My suit for the wedding was in that suitcase, and the wedding was only two days later.

   問題は深刻でした。結婚式用のスーツがそのスーツケースに入っていて、結婚式はたった2日後だったのです。

3. 03Step 1: Report It Before Leaving

   First, I went straight to the airline's baggage desk before leaving the airport. I filled out a form and got a reference number. That number turned out to be very important.

   まず、空港を出る前に、まっすぐ航空会社の手荷物カウンターに行きました。用紙に記入して、受付番号をもらいました。この番号が、あとでとても大事になりました。

4. 04Step 2: Ask About Costs

   Next, I asked, "Can I buy basic things I need, and will the airline pay me back?" They explained the rules, so I bought a toothbrush, a shirt, and a simple suit, and I kept every receipt.

   次に、「必要な最低限のものを買ってもいいですか？航空会社がその分を払ってくれますか？」と聞きました。ルールを説明してもらったので、歯ブラシとシャツと簡単なスーツを買い、レシートは全部取っておきました。

5. 05Step 3: Follow Up Every Day

   Then, I checked the status online every morning and called once a day. I was always polite, even when I was frustrated. On the third day, my suitcase arrived at my hotel.

   それから、毎朝ネットで状況を確かめ、1日1回電話をしました。いらいらしているときでも、いつも丁寧に話しました。3日目に、スーツケースがホテルに届きました。

6. 06What I Do Now

   Now I pack differently. I keep one change of clothes and important items in my carry-on bag, I take a photo of my suitcase, and I put my name and phone number inside and outside it.

   今では、荷物の詰め方を変えています。着替えを一組と大事なものを機内持ち込みのかばんに入れ、スーツケースの写真を撮り、名前と電話番号をスーツケースの中と外に付けています。

7. 07Conclusion

   In conclusion, losing a suitcase is stressful, but you can handle it. Report it fast, stay calm, and pack smart next time. And yes, I made it to the wedding in time. Thank you.

   まとめると、スーツケースをなくすのはストレスですが、何とかなります。すぐに届け出て、落ち着いて、次からは賢く荷物を詰めましょう。そして、はい、結婚式にはちゃんと間に合いました。ありがとうございました。
