01What I Learned From Living Alone
Hello, everyone. I'm a university student from Brazil. Last year, I moved to Tokyo and started living alone for the first time. Today, I'd like to share what I learned.
Hola a todos. Soy un estudiante universitario de Brasil. El año pasado me mudé a Tokio y empecé a vivir solo por primera vez. Hoy me gustaría compartir lo que aprendí.
02The First Surprise
The first surprise was how many things I had to do by myself. I had to pay bills, cook, clean, and do laundry. Nobody did it for me anymore.
La primera sorpresa fue la cantidad de cosas que tenía que hacer por mi cuenta. Tenía que pagar las facturas, cocinar, limpiar y lavar la ropa. Ya nadie lo hacía por mí.
03Lesson 1: Managing Money
My first lesson was about money. I learned to make a budget. As you can see, rent takes about half of my money, so I plan everything else carefully.
Mi primera lección fue sobre el dinero. Aprendí a hacer un presupuesto. Como pueden ver, el alquiler se lleva más o menos la mitad de mi dinero, así que planifico todo lo demás con cuidado.

04Lesson 2: Feeling Lonely Is Normal
My second lesson was that feeling lonely is normal. Some evenings were very quiet, and I missed my family a lot. I learned to call them often and not to keep my feelings inside.

05Lesson 3: The Power of Routine
My third lesson was the power of routine. I wake up at the same time, cook simple meals, and go outside at least once a day. These small habits keep me healthy.
Mi tercera lección fue el poder de la rutina. Me levanto a la misma hora, cocino comidas sencillas y salgo al menos una vez al día. Estos pequeños hábitos me mantienen sano.
06How I Changed
Looking back, I have changed a lot. Before, I relied on my parents for almost everything. Now, I can take care of myself, and I feel much more confident.
Mirando hacia atrás, he cambiado mucho. Antes dependía de mis padres para casi todo. Ahora puedo cuidarme solo y me siento mucho más seguro de mí mismo.

In short, living alone was hard at first, but it was worth it. It taught me to be independent. If you have the chance, I think you should try it. Thank you.
