   Good afternoon. When was the last time you watched a movie in a theater? Today, I'll look at whether streaming services are killing movie theaters, or simply changing them.

2. 02The Rise of Streaming

   There's no doubt that streaming has changed our habits. For a low monthly price, we can watch thousands of movies at home, whenever we want.

3. 03The Case That Theaters Are Dying

   Some argue that theaters are in serious trouble. Many movies now come to streaming just weeks after they open in theaters. Why pay for tickets and snacks when you can wait a little?

   In fact, many theaters are changing to survive. They are adding comfortable seats, better food, and special screenings, turning a trip to the movies into an event.

   In my view, streaming is not killing theaters, but it is making them smaller and more special. Theaters will survive by offering what home cannot.

   私の考えでは、配信は映画館を消そうとしているのではなく、映画館を小さく、特別なものにしているのです。映画館は、家ではできないことを提供することで生き残っていくでしょう。
