   Good afternoon. When was the last time you watched a movie in a theater? Today, I'll look at whether streaming services are killing movie theaters, or simply changing them.

   大家午安。你們上一次去電影院看電影是什麼時候？今天，我們來看看串流影音服務到底是在扼殺電影院，還是只是在改變它們。

2. 02The Rise of Streaming

   There's no doubt that streaming has changed our habits. For a low monthly price, we can watch thousands of movies at home, whenever we want.

   毫無疑問，串流已經改變了我們的習慣。只要付一點月費，我們就能隨時在家看好幾千部電影。

3. 03The Case That Theaters Are Dying

   Some argue that theaters are in serious trouble. Many movies now come to streaming just weeks after they open in theaters. Why pay for tickets and snacks when you can wait a little?

   有人認為電影院正面臨嚴重的危機。現在很多電影在戲院上映後短短幾個禮拜，就會在串流平台上架。既然稍微等一下就好，為什麼還要花錢買電影票和零食呢？

4. 04The Case That Theaters Will Survive

   On the other hand, theaters offer something home can't: a giant screen, powerful sound, and the feeling of laughing or screaming together with strangers.

   另一方面，電影院能提供家裡給不了的東西：超大的銀幕、震撼的音效，還有跟陌生人一起大笑或尖叫的感覺。

5. 05Theaters Are Changing

   In fact, many theaters are changing to survive. They are adding comfortable seats, better food, and special screenings, turning a trip to the movies into an event.

   事實上，很多電影院為了生存正在轉型。它們加了舒適的座椅、更好吃的餐點和特別場次，把去看電影變成一場活動。

6. 06Different Movies, Different Places

   It seems that people now choose different places for different movies. Big event movies still draw crowds, while smaller films are often watched at home.

   現在大家似乎會依照不同的電影，選擇不同的觀賞地點。大製作的電影還是能吸引大批觀眾，而小品電影則常常在家裡看。

7. 07My View

   In my view, streaming is not killing theaters, but it is making them smaller and more special. Theaters will survive by offering what home cannot.

   我認為，串流並沒有扼殺電影院，但確實讓電影院變得更小眾、更特別。電影院會靠著提供家裡做不到的體驗存活下去。
