1. 01Local or International Company?

   Hello, everyone. I'm an accountant in Jakarta. For five years, I worked at a small local company. Now, I work at a large international company. So I've worked at both. Today, I'll compare the two for anyone choosing a job.

   안녕하세요, 여러분. 저는 자카르타의 회계 담당자입니다. 5년 동안 작은 현지 회사에서 일했습니다. 지금은 큰 글로벌 기업에서 일합니다. 그러니까 두 곳 모두에서 일해 본 셈입니다. 오늘은 직장을 고르는 분들을 위해 두 곳을 비교해 보겠습니다.

2. 02Work Style

   First, work style. At the local company, I did many different jobs, from accounting to helping customers. At the international company, my role is clearer, but there are many more rules and processes.

   첫째, 일하는 방식입니다. 현지 회사에서는 회계부터 고객 응대까지 여러 가지 일을 했습니다. 글로벌 기업에서는 제 역할이 더 분명하지만, 규칙과 절차가 훨씬 많습니다.

3. 03Relationships

   Second, relationships. My old company felt like a family. We had lunch together every day. On the other hand, my new company is more formal, and many colleagues are in other countries.

   둘째, 관계입니다. 예전 회사는 가족 같았습니다. 매일 함께 점심을 먹었습니다. 반면에 지금 회사는 더 격식이 있고, 많은 동료가 다른 나라에 있습니다.

4. 04Language and Growth

   Third, growth. At the international company, I use English every day, and there are training programs. My English and my skills have improved much faster than before.

   셋째, 성장입니다. 글로벌 기업에서는 매일 영어를 쓰고, 교육 프로그램도 있습니다. 제 영어와 실력이 예전보다 훨씬 빨리 늘었습니다.

5. 05Decisions and Speed

   However, decisions are slower now. At my old company, I could ask the boss and get an answer in five minutes. Now, some decisions need approval from three different offices.

   하지만 지금은 결정이 더 느립니다. 예전 회사에서는 상사에게 물어보면 5분 안에 답을 들을 수 있었습니다. 지금은 어떤 결정은 세 군데 사무실의 승인이 필요합니다.

   Here's a summary. Each type of company has clear strengths.

   In conclusion, neither is better for everyone. If you want to try many things quickly, a local company may suit you. If you want structured training and global experience, try an international one. Thank you.
