  1. 01My Monday Planning Routine

Good morning, everyone. I'm a project coordinator at a construction company in Dubai. Every Monday, before I open my email, I spend thirty minutes planning my week. Here's my routine, step by step.

  2. 02Step 1: Look Back at Last Week

First, I look back at last week. What did I finish? What's still open? I move anything unfinished onto this week's list, so nothing gets lost.

  3. 03Step 2: Choose Three Big Goals

Next, I choose three big goals for the week. Only three. If everything is a priority, nothing is. These are the tasks that would make the week a success.

  4. 04Step 3: Block Time in My Calendar

Then I block time in my calendar for those goals, usually in the morning when I focus best. I try to keep meetings in the afternoon.

  5. 05Step 4: Check the Week for Problems

After that, I check the week for problems: deadlines, very busy days, and people I'll need answers from. If I need something from someone on Thursday, I ask them on Monday.

  6. 06Why It Works

Why does this help? Before I started, I spent Mondays reacting to emails. Now I start the week with a clear plan, and I have fewer last-minute surprises on Friday.

  7. 07Conclusion

In conclusion, thirty minutes on Monday saves me hours during the week. Try it next Monday: plan first, then open your email. Thank you.
