01Why I Took a Break From Social Media
Hi, everyone. How many hours a day do you spend on social media? A few months ago, I realized I was spending over four hours a day on my phone. So I decided to take a thirty-day break.
02Why I Decided to Stop
I had three reasons. First, I was wasting a lot of time. Second, I found it hard to focus on my studies. Third, I kept comparing my life to other people's perfect photos.
Tôi có ba lý do.
03The First Week
The first week was harder than I expected. I picked up my phone again and again out of habit. I felt bored and even a little anxious.
Tuần đầu tiên khó hơn tôi nghĩ. Tôi cứ cầm điện thoại lên hết lần này đến lần khác vì thói quen. Tôi thấy buồn chán và thậm chí hơi bồn chồn.
04What I Did Instead
Instead of scrolling, I filled my time with other things. I read books, went for walks, and called my friends instead of sending messages.
Thay vì lướt điện thoại, tôi lấp đầy thời gian bằng những việc khác. Tôi đọc sách, đi dạo, và gọi điện cho bạn bè thay vì nhắn tin.
05What Changed
After thirty days, the difference was clear. I used my phone for less than an hour a day. I slept better, and I could focus for much longer.
06Going Back, With Rules
Now I use social media again, but with some rules. I don't take my phone to bed, I check social media only once a day, and I turned off most notifications.
07Conclusion
In the end, I learned that social media is just a tool. It can be useful, but we need to control it, not the other way around. Why not try a short break yourself? Thank you.
