  1. 01Cooking for the Whole Week on Sunday

Hi, everyone. I'm a nurse in Chicago, and I often work twelve-hour shifts. Six months ago, I started cooking all my meals for the week on Sunday. Today, I'll share the pros and cons.

  2. 02Pro: Saving Time

The biggest advantage is time. I cook for about three hours on Sunday, and then I don't have to cook after long shifts. I just open the fridge and heat something up.

  3. 03Pro: Saving Money and Eating Better

Another advantage is money. Before, I ordered takeout three or four times a week. Now, I rarely do. I also eat more vegetables, because I plan my meals ahead.

  4. 04Con: Eating the Same Food

However, there are some disadvantages. The main one is boredom. By Thursday, I'm usually tired of eating the same chicken and rice.

  5. 05Con: Losing a Sunday

Another disadvantage is that I lose part of my Sunday. Shopping, cooking, and washing all those containers takes a lot of energy on my day off.

  6. 06My Tips

Here are my tips. Cook basic ingredients, like rice, roasted vegetables, and chicken, instead of full meals. Then add different sauces each day. And if you can, cook with a friend to make it fun.

  7. 07Conclusion

In conclusion, meal prep is worth it for busy people, as long as you add some variety. Why not try it for just one week? Thank you.
